About Civil Affairs: Cigars Are in Our DNA

At Civil Affairs Cigar, our story is one of tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep-rooted family legacy in the world of tobacco. Our journey begins with my great-great-grandfather, Julian Gener of Cuba, whose passion for cigars was ignited by his uncle, Miguel Jané. A master of the tobacco trade, Miguel passed down his knowledge to Julian and his siblings, teaching them the art of cultivating, blending, and rolling the finest cigars—a tradition that would shape our family's future.

Among those who carried on this craft was my great-grandmother, Rita, Julian’s daughter. She played a crucial role in preserving his personal tradition, hand-rolling cigars specifically for his private collection. But her influence didn’t stop there—before leaving Cuba due to the Cuban Revolution, she passed down her knowledge and expertise to my grandmother and mother, ensuring that the artistry and craftsmanship of cigar making would live on in our family.

This legacy has continued through the generations. As a child, I learned the art of cigar rolling from my grandmother and mother, just as they had learned from Rita. From selecting the finest leaves to perfecting the roll, we were immersed in the tradition that had been passed down through our family for decades.

At Civil Affairs Cigar, we honor this multi-generational legacy by blending time-honored Cuban techniques with modern precision, crafting cigars that embody the excellence and passion of those who came before us. Whether you are a seasoned aficionado or new to the world of cigars, our goal is to offer an unforgettable smoking experience—one that celebrates history, craftsmanship, and the artistry of fine tobacco.

We don’t just craft cigars—we preserve a legacy, one draw at a time.

Welcome to Civil Affairs Cigar—where history, passion, and craftsmanship come together.
